Venture Zone
Designed by William Steele & Company for General Electric in 1916, 421 N 7th St. (Philadelphia, PA, USA) served as a factory to manufacture electric switchboard equipment.
Venture Zone is a speculative adaptive reuse design project (2019), envisioning the development of a extracurricular enrichment center on the 1st and 2nd floor of 421 N 7th St.), providing a local community hub where locals of all experience level can explore new classes in STEM, performance and creative arts, all led by other members of the community.
The process included site visit, site assessment, interior state analysis, programming, schematic design, design development, conceptual renderings, construction documentation.
