Piece by Piece

Piece by Piece is a large-scale cardboard participatory sculpture collaboratively assembled with visitors in the 2023 Great Exhibition Road Festival.

Festival-goers were invited to slot cardboard pieces together to form a large abstract sculpture. Each piece was designed to interlock and let complex structures naturally emerge from simple parts. Twenty different versions of the sculpture were assembled over the course of two days.
